Poetry readings by Sophie Mayer, Sascha Aurora Akhtar, Sarah Crewe and Linus Slug,
followed by a short screening and panel discussion about the role of women muses
in our lives with Sarah Pucill whose film about Claude Cahun has just been completed,
Helena Blaker who is working on a film about Elizabeth Bishop and
Cherry Smyth whose new novel looks at the 19th century artists' model, Joanna Hiffernan and writer and artist, Caroline Bergvall.

All proceeds will go to Pussy Riot

Helena Blaker trained as an actor and has worked for 20 years as a writer and curator in visual art,

with a focus on cross-disciplinary developments, the history of performance in visual art and contemporary

and historical artists' film.


Sophie Mayer is the author of three collections of poetry, most recently Kiss Off (Oystercatcher) and

co-editor of the recent anthologies Catechism: Poems for Pussy Riot and Binders Full of Women.



Sarah Pucill is a film maker and photographer whose award winning works have been screened worldwide

including at Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts Superieure, Paris, The Millennium, New York,

Montreal Festival of New Cinema, The Freud Museum, London, Tate Britain, BFI South Bank,

Tate Modern and the De La Warr Pavillion.

Cherry Smyth is a poet with three poetry collections, a curator and an art critic. 

She writes regularly for Art Monthly and Art Review. 

Her latest collection is Test, Orange, Pindrop Press, 2012
